Manchester Young Professionals Network Celebrates 4th Birthday

New initiative to be announced at birthday celebration at the Currier Museum of Art on Wednesday, October 8

Manchester - The Manchester Young Professionals Network (MYPN) will celebrate its 4th birthday by kicking off an exciting new initiative at a celebration at the Currier Museum of Art. The initiative will bring together education, networking and professional empowerment to support young professionals in New Hampshire.

The birthday party is Wednesday, October 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Currier Museum of Art at 150 Ash Street. Admission is free to guests who have registered at www.MYPN.org.

In October 2004, MYPN held its first-ever event, drawing 150 people, ages 20 to 40. Today, the organization boasts nearly 3,000 members who attend monthly social events and bimonthly professional development and business events. Most importantly, MYPNÕs presence and efforts have created a strongly networked group of young professionals who have made impressive commitments to their communities, expanded their professional skill level and accessed mentors and leaders who have offered life-changing advice and guidance.

Over the last four years, five other young professional organizations have sprung up in New Hampshire, Governor John Lynch established a task force devoted to attracting and retaining young professionals in the state and the University System of New Hampshire kicked off its 55% Initiative, an effort to retain New Hampshire college graduates. Such momentum was created and supported by MYPNÕs trail-blazing.

"We're so proud to have been a catalyst for young professional networking, professional development and empowerment across the state," said Jeremy Hitchcock, chairman of MYPN. "These initiatives and networks are so important as we all work together to attract, retain and empower young professionals in New Hampshire. We are thrilled to be a part of it and plan to further our contributions in the years to come, particularly through the initiative we will announce at our birthday celebration."
